This web page will be for nothing but spectra of 10mm, 8mm, 5mm, 3mm, and SMD LEDS (driven at 20mA to 60mA):

Ocean Optics USB2000 Spectrometer donated by P.L.
As of 10-10-07, I've been using a PC2000-ISA Spectrometer from Ocean Optics that I received several years ago, but that I didn't have a home for until now.
As of 03-08-07, I once again have the USB2000 spectrometer, enabling color spectra again.

NIR (NEAR-INFRARED)

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of a fairly modern NIR LED; spectrometer's response narrowed to a range of 780nm to 874nm.

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of the NIR LED in the remote control switch for the Remote Control Light.

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of the NIR LEDs in the AquaPro5 "AquariumBar™".

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of the IR LEDs in the Light Relief; spectrometer's response narrowed to a range of 750nm to 1,000nm.

Spectrographic analysis
Spectrographic analysis of a Power Light Systems # IR-720-560WD NIR LED.

Spectrographic analysis
Spectrographic analysis of a Power Light Systems # IR-905-560WD NIR LED.

Spectrographic analysis
Spectrographic analysis of a Power Light Systems # IR-740-560WD NIR LED.

Spectrographic analysis
Spectrographic analysis of a Power Light Systems # IR-770-560WD NIR LED.

Spectrographic analysis
Spectrographic analysis of the AdvancedMart NIR LED Mag-Lite Retrofit.

Spectrographic analysis
Spectrographic analysis of the AdvancedMart NIR LED Mag-Lite Retrofit.
Spectrometer's response narrowed to show peak emission within a range of 821nm and 827nm.

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of an unknown-type NIR LED.

Spectrographic plot
Second spectrographic analysis of the LEDs in the remote control of an Megatech Avion Micro Airplane.
Spectrographic analysis of the NIR LEDs performed with a different spectrometer that reads deeper into the infrared.

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of an Active # 13287 NIR LED.

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of an unknown-type 5mm NIR LED.

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of the LEDs in the remote control of an Megatech Avion Micro Airplane.
These LEDs radiate farther into the IR range than the spectrometer can register; probably close to 920nm.

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of the IR LEDs in the 28xLED IR Flashlight.
The peak wavelength appears to be ~860nm.

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of a Roither Lasertechnik SHPL-810-260 near-IR LED.

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of the IR LED in the Pelican L1

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of the IR LEDs in the Light Relief. That hump in the red is from one of the red LEDs in this product, and may be ignored.

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of a Hewlett-Packard QSDL-E103 NIR LED.
This is an ~860nm LED, so there's little "tail" on this chart.

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of an 880nm NIR LED.
This is an 880nm LED, so there's little "tail" on this chart.

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of a Roithner Lasertechnik infrared LED, model # ELD-905.
This is a 905nm LED, so it's just out of the spectrometer's range.

Do you manufacture or sell an LED flashlight, task light, utility light, or module of some kind? Want to see it tested by a real person, under real working conditions? Do you then want to see how your light did? If you have a sample available for this type of real-world, real-time testing, please contact me at ledmuseum@worldnet.att.net or send your potential victim to:
